Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has said that he wants the finances sorted so he can get on with building a team for next season.
"I've got to know exactly what the funding is, and that's something of a movable feast so it's becoming a frustration to say the least," said Dowie to the CT.
"Patience is obviously important, but players don't wait so we've got to resolve it as quickly as possible. "It's very important that we act strategically. "We were very well set up to act, and could act now on a number of things. "But whether we will be able to do that is looking unlikely.

"You don't want to bring in players and all of a sudden, when the money does come on stream, you're full up with second-choice people. If you're in the middle of pre-season you've got to bring players in and integrate them into the system.
"My view was that we had finances available anyway. "That's not quite turned out to be the case as yet - I think it's more linked to the takeover and if the deal doesn't come off, we'll have to do the best we can, work the loan system. "If we acquire the targets I've identified, I've got very high aspirations. "If we don't acquire them, we'll have to re-evaluate, because there will be some big hitters in there.
"Look at this season when you had Derby spending £8million, Birmingham £15million, Sunderland 10 or £12million. "It's not rocket science that they're up there because they've bought good players. "And the clubs who come down will be very powerful in the market.
"I know the fans are waiting to see what happens. I'm sure they are as expectant as I am.
"But they're going to have to be a bit more patient - we all are because I've yet to understand what my parameters are. "I've got to wait and see exactly what the details of the takeover are - that's the frustration."
Gary Hopkins and one of the consortium attended last night's end of season dinner. Plans for the take-over of the club appear to be going well but most are concerned that the hurdles lie with Coventry City Council who seem reluctance to relinguish their control of the Arena.
