Former Coventry City manager Paul Cook is set to become the new manager of Wigan Athletic.
Cook, was named the League Managers Association's Manager for League Two after guiding Portsmouth FC to the League Two title and has been offered an improved contract by the South Coast club.
However, Wigan have made a bid to secure his services, after meeting Cook in Spain over the weekend and have agreed a compensation package with Portsmouth, with whom Cook has been with for two years since leaving Chesterfield.
Cook is expected to take all of his backroom staff with him to Wigan, who will be in League One next season.
