A photograph of the Lord Aylesford Inn in Hillfields, where Singers FC, who became Coventry City FC in 1898 were founded, has been unearthed by club historian Lionel Bird.
Eight workers from the Singers cycle factory are understood to have met in this public house and formed a football team in 1883.
The pub was destroyed in Blitz in November 1940 and is now the site of the Aylesford Intermediate Care Centre.
