Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that Clive Platt offers leadership qualities on the pitch.
Speaking about the squad's most senior player to the CT's Andy Turner, Thorn said: “Platty is a physical presence.
“He was unlucky because he came on and did really well against Blackpool but we have to watch how many games he plays in a week.
“He’ll have a nice rest now but he’s certainly put his name down for the position. Depending on how things work out we’ll go from there.
"But I was chuffed to bits with him against Southampton because he’s a good lad and good in the dressing room.
“He’s got a bit of experience which rubs off and I was pleased with his contribution.
"You need leaders out on the pitch pushing and pulling and it would be nice get that out on the pitch because I am hoarse by the end of the game.”
