Former Coventry City defender Dave Busst who is Director of Operations at Sky Blues in the Community has released the following media briefing about an upcoming charity game next month to benefit ‘Forces Support‘.

Many members of the Coventry City Former Players Association including several members of the 1987 Sky Blues F.A.Cup winning team are expected to be turning out in the 20 man ‘Coventry City’ squad which currently comprises Dele Adebola, Dave Bennett, David Busst, Ashley Cain, Lee Carsley, Paul Culpin, Dean Emerson, Micky Gynn, Paul Hall, David Phillips, Claus Bech Jorgensen, Gavin O’Toole, Craig Pead, Barry Quinn, Tynan Scope, Dean ThomasDave Titterton, Terry Angus, Andy Lovelock and Carl Adam(STFC manager).

The match kicks off at 3pm at Stratford Town FC on Sunday 18th May 2014.  There are sponsorship opportunities and a chance to play with your Sky Blue heroes of the past. CCFPA encourages all members of the Sky Blue family to turn out and support this event.

“Many of the exciting big names of football who played in Coventry City’s FA Cup winning side from 1987 and many others with Premiership experience will be lining up against a Villa Lions Legends side at 3pm at Stratford Town FC on Sunday 18th May 2014. Names such as Dave Busst, Lee Carsley, Dele Adebola and Micky Gynn are just a few of the famous names from a 20-man squad who will be turning out for the Coventry City side to help raise funds for Forces Support as part of an all-day exciting football Festival which begins with a five-a-side tournament from 10am.

Forces Support operates all over the UK according to requests. It provides practical support by way of general maintenance around the homes and gardens for bereaved military families. All the work carried out is completely free of charge to the families of the fallen.Organisers are inviting military personnel to attend the event with the expectation of military stalls and displays to promote the excellent work of our armed services provide in serving their country. Donations from the day will raise funds for Forces Support, who are being backed by E-Lites electronic cigarettes in their fund raising. They will also be presenting the E-Lites Trophy to the winning team.

Dave Busst Director of Operations, Sky Blues in the Community, said; “As former players we are delighted to have been invited to take part in matches such as this. We are very much looking forward to this match and raising money for Forces Support which is a very worthwhile cause and having fun at the same time.”

I also need to thank our partners, E-Lites, for their hard work in helping me organise the big game.”

The Organisers are offering five supporters from each side the opportunity to play for 15 minutes in the second half of this match. A fee of £200 will be charged which will be used as a donation to the charity. This will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis.
