Jordan Ponticelli is back at Coventry City but is injured again.
The striker has a possible re-fracture of a bone in his foot sustained whilst on loan at Macclesfield Town and has come back to Coventry for treatment.
His loan at the Silkmen is for the whole season but the Sky Blues have a recall on it in January.
Mark Robins told the Coventry Telegraph: “Jordan Ponticelli has come back to us and there’s a possibility that he has re-fractured his toe but hopefully that isn’t the case.
“I spoke to the doctor today and there’s a possibility that it’s OK.
"It might be some swelling but if it is a crack then the worst case scenario is that it’s three weeks and he’ll be fit again which gives me an option to call him back in January.
"We need goal scorers and he’s a goal scorer. “The idea was to get him out and play but for one reason or another he’s had his injury and that’s why he’s not performed for them.
"They are having a tough season and a new manager has gone in for them."
