Jordan Ponticelli said it was a great feeling after he scored for Coventry City within thirteen minutes of coming on as a half-time substitute and then scoring a penalty in the shootout to see City win 4-3 at Walsall on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Speaking to Billie Marshall, Ponticelli said: "I can't really put it into words, when then I seen the ball coming to be I obviously wanted to first of all make good contact, and then see it in the back of the net.
"It was a great feeling. Obviously for the fans who have travelled and wanting to see us win, it was fantastic to be able to contribute to that.
"With the way the ball was going away from goal I was expecting a ball across, but Marc McNulty is a very good finisher, so there was always the chance he'd go himself.
"I'm always eager to play, never really impatient. The gaffer wants hard working players in his team so I am working every day to try and impress him.
"When I got my name in the squad I wanted to prove a point when I came on and I think I did that.
"It was a great feeling that the supporters were signing my name. It is quite impressive they managed to fit my surname in a song!"
