Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that pre-season is going well.
City have been in Portugal and trained at Ryton for a week before commencing on their five pre-season matches which start this afternoon at Nuneaton.
Speaking to the CT, Thorn said: "The pre-season is going very well and we can't wait for the games to start and get the match fitness going, because there is nothing like playing games.
"They have done everything that has been asked of them and a little bit more, so we are just looking forward to gettng out on the pitch.
"They will be aching on Sunday morning I'm sure because it will be a different type of fitness.
"You don't get three points in pre-season but it is important that we start on an even keel and carry that all the way through.
"Performance is everything. We have done bits and pieces and we don't want to play badly and win. Obviously everyone wants to win but the result is immaterial. It is about getting back to what we are doing and blowing the cobwebs down and getting back to good habits.
"We will go over there, playing to win and to entertain like we did at the end of last season. It's all about getting ready for August 6th."
