Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that the club's owners will have to put in equity in order for there to be a budget for players under the Financial Fair Play rules.
Pressley was asked the question “Will Financial Fair Play allow us to keep funding our squad with the paltry income we’re making?” by the Coventry Telegraph at the press conference yesterday on behalf of a supporter.
The City boss answered: “Without doubt our budget will be cut again, although not considerably, and the only way we can get to a reasonable level of budget in this league is by the owner putting in equity.
“Realistically, if you were to take into account what we’re getting in terms of supporters at Sixfields, we would probably have to run with a Nuneaton budget because there is very little between the two clubs in terms of what we’re getting at a home gate.
"So the only way we can make that up is through equity being put in to subsidise the position.”
