Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he accepts the City support are unhappy with him after the latest defeat at Gillingham.
Although not as fierce as the reaction from the City support at Doncaster Rovers, a good number of City supporters at the Priestfield Stadium called for Pressley to quit or be sacked.
That view has been strongly backed up on social media and there are estimates of around 5,000 plus City supporters are not attending matches at the Ricoh Arena every game, with many of those going to matches unlikely to renew season tickets until either Pressley, his management team and Steve Waggott who is responsible for bringing in players leaves or the standard of football served up by City improves.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said: “They’re extremely unhappy and I accept that – I wouldn’t expect anything else.
“I accept the criticism that comes my way and I’ll continue to work hard to put things right. We have to turn the corner because that kind of performance is simply not good enough for this football club."
