Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he has a great visiion for the club.
Pressley, who has around five thousand supporters staying away from City home games until the standard of football improves or he is sacked, if certain estimates are to be believed and is underfire from many who are attending matches due to the results and performances that City supporters have witnessed since he took over in March 2013, wrote in his programme notes: “Coming to England I couldn’t have asked for a more challenging task but I’m very proud to be the manager of this football club and I have a great vision for them.
“I look back at one of the legends of this club, Jimmy Hill. His first years here were very challenging and that’s been the case for many managers who have gone on to be successful.
“I look at Southampton. Five years ago they sat 15th in League One but they had a clear strategy of developing their own players and they persevered. That’s what we have to do, but we have to do that with no finances.
“I’ve got no finance in terms of going out to purchase players which is why a big part of this is developing out own players. But there’s a degree of pressure because this is a massive football club and people have their expectations.
“We have to wheel and deal, be very creative in the market. I’ve made a decision on what loan players I want to keep but we have to work very hard on that.”
