With the likely departure of Cyrus Christie, Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he may tweak his defence.
When asked by the Coventry Telegraph on behalf of a supporter if He would consider 'giving JordanClarke/Aaron Phillips game time at right-back with Cyrus Christie likely to leave in the summer and no chance of promotion?'
Pressley, replied: “We’ve had a lot to contend with but moving forward to next season I’m keen to see the team evolving and improving and one of the areas that we definitely have to improve is defensively.
“It may mean tweaking the way we play slightly but, also, the personnel in those areas. I think between now and the end of the season I have to look at certain things but, first and foremost, I have to make sure we also win games.
“I played Jordan at left-back on Tuesday night and I thought he was excellent in that position. He has played right back in 11 v 11 training over the last couple of weeks because I have to start looking towards next season. He’s a player who really excites me as a left or right back.
“Looking at a lot of teams who are successful just now, they play with one very attack minded full-back and one quite defensive full-back.
“Chelsea, this year, do that and it’s something I am really considering moving forward to next season. Even in our division, teams like Wolves, and Leyton Orient especially, are playing with that type of system.”
