Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he is pleased that Joe Murphy has been called into the Republic Of Ireland squad.
Murphy is in the Ireland squad to face Italy tomorrow night at Fulham FC and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner about Murphy's call up and possible departure from the Sky Blues, Pressley said: “The one thing I am really pleased for is the fact that Joe’s performances have been recognised at international level, and I think he’s very worthy of that opportunity.
“Joe is always one who wants to play games and you can rely on him all the time. And typical of Joe he was prepared to immediately drop everything and report for duty during holiday time and that very much typifies him as a person.
“He’s hardly missed a game over the last three years at this club so I have great admiration for him and if we lose him he’ll certainly go with our best wishes.”
