Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has praised Frank Nouble and Reda Johnson for their performances against Peterborough United.
The duo had both come back from injury and both played the whole game in a 3-2 win.
“Frank has only really trained once in the last three weeks. When he arrived here his fitness wasn’t at the levels we want and he’s had that injury, but boy did he dig deep for us today," Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole.
“I was going to change him after 75 minutes but when I got the message to him he said no, he was ready for the fight.
“He actually got stronger as the game went on but sometimes that’s the case in your first game back – often it’s the games that follow where you need to find it but we’ll work hard this week and hopefully he’ll benefit from that.
“I’m really pleased for him, I’m really pleased for Reda Johnson and I’m really pleased for the players who have suffered in recent weeks.
“There’s no better way to gain confidence than when you’re 2-0 down and everybody bar us in the dressing room thinks it’s another bad day, another defeat for Coventry.
“But there’s great unity in the club just now, It’s difficult to get that across to people at times like this but it’s true – we’ve got a great group of players, a really honest group of players.
“I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves because it was only one win and it can’t be a false dawn this must be the start. But it is a very good start.”
