Pressley Suing City

As expected, Steven Pressley has launched legal action against Coventry City after being sacked.

Most manager's end up suing clubs they are sacked by if they do not receive the severance pay that was in their contract and the Scot whose failure to get City winning cost the club a sum estimated at over one million pounds in lost revenues due to supporters staying away following an embarrassing FA Cup exit against Conference North side Worcester City and saw City in the relegation zone before he was dismissed, is not surprisingly taking action against the club's owners for breach of contract for failing to pay him eighteen months worth of his salary within a week which was a clause in his four year contract that was only signed five months ago.

Coventry City Chairman Tim Fisher issued a brief statement saying:  “We are in negotiations with the League Managers’ Association and lawyers representing Steven Pressley.

“We are hopeful of reaching a sensible settlement for all parties.”
