Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he will be looking after the talents that are George Thomas and James Maddison.
The duo were excellent in the 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers on Friday night and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, the City boss said about the duo: “We’ve got two wonderful young players there.
“Pre-season has been brilliant for them and it really excites me to see the quality they offer.
"They’re great prospects and they’ve both got a really good attitude to the game; they’re a huge part of what we’re trying to achieve at this club and if it’s not this season they make an impact it will certainly be next year.
“George has already made his debut and James has been on the bench.
"I’ll use them when I think they’re ready but they’re still growing into their bodies – physically they need to improve and that’s something we’ll be working hard on, but we have to be careful at this stage.
“We can’t expect too much of them – although at times I do!
“We perhaps pushed James a little bit too much towards the end of last season when he was playing for the 18s and the 21s on a regular basis.
"He developed a little bit of a back problem so he came back to pre-season training without doing a summer programme.
“He’s a special talent but when we came to the club we thought that, out of possession, he didn’t work within the structure of the team.
"He’s improved that aspect of his game a lot and now he wins a lot of possession for us by putting his body in, tackling and working exceptionally hard.
“Now it’s out job to make sure that he and the other young lads keep their feet firmly on the ground, but I don’t think we’ll have too many problems in that respect.”
