Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that the club is on a pathway and needs fans, players buying into their philosophy.
Speaking to James Rodger and Alan Poole at this morning's press conference, Pressley, who signed a new deal which will tie him to the club until 2018 this week, said: "As soon as (Steve) Waggott asked me about a new contract I immediately said "yes" without hesitation. I love it here.
"You can either throw money at football clubs or you can do it our way, nurturing young talent.
"We're developing a strong base and I'm a manager who believes in youth. We've got four academy players as first-team starters.
"Southampton are a wonderful example of how you can build from within.
"They were in a position not dissimilar to ours and they built up their youth system. I'd urge fans to recall that.
"It's a precarious job being in football management. Fans need to remember the journey we are on.
"We're on a pathway and we need fans, players and everyone looking forward and buying into our philosophy.
"I understand you need short-term goals to reach the long term.
"I'm not motivated by money."
