Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has admitted that he has had positive discussions with Wasps owner Derek Richardson and their CEO Nick Eastwood.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mr Waggott, who has been working hard for the Sky Blue cause over the last few weeks, meeting supporters, businesses and various sporting people in the city said:“I’ve met Nick Eastwood and, briefly, Derek Richardson since the deal with Wasps was struck.
“They were very positive discussions and, as a sports club like ourselves, they understand our position and we all want this to be a strong partnership moving forward. That has got to be good for all parties.
“It’s important for our supporters to know that Wasps’ arrival does not affect the deal we have in place to play at the Ricoh Arena and we will continue to work closely with staff at the Ricoh and with Wasps to deliver the best possible experience for our supporters.
“I’ve been very open and honest with Nick and the team, however, because the football club needs to drive more revenue to deliver the best possible product on the pitch.
"They understand that and understand that the longer-term ambition for the football club is to be in a stadium where we access revenue 365 days a year – not on 23 or 24 days.”
