Preservation Sky Blues Group (PSBG) apologises for its recent lack of communication. Members of the group have been out of the country on business and have been devoting considerable time in stepping up our efforts to seek out potential new investors whilst making contact with other parties who have been rumoured to be interested in taking over the club so as to establish their credibility.
Our work is ongoing in this area and we will continue to pursue any realistic leads.
Meanwhile we once again call upon the owners of Coventry City Football Club to give us supporters some hope and encouragement that we can start moving in the right direction.
What we are definitely not asking for is more warm words and empty rhetoric from CCFC Chairman Tim Fisher. We want actions to speak for themselves in proving that SISU have the best interests of OUR football club at the heart of its decision making.
Sadly we have seen precious little evidence of this in the 7 disastrous years that Sisu have been at the helm for.
What we want to see is proper investment in the team, Manager Tony Mowbray signed up on a decent length contract, permanent signings made not short team loans and monthly contracts. In short we want to see a demonstration of ambition and commitment.
Until such time as we see any such demonstration we will continue our campaign to search out potential new owners and to hit SISU where it hurts most..."in the pocket".
We have already placed on record our plans to start a 2015/2016 season ticket boycott strategy in an attempt to starve SISU of income. We have no desire to stay away. The ill fated Sixfields period was hard enough to stomach but we are prepared to endure some short term pain if it means finally getting owners who care about Coventry City and its supporters and who actually want to own a successful football club and are prepared to invest in a proper strategy to make that happen.
Unlike recent comments from the apologists and sycophants that the club chooses to surround itself with, we are actually in touch with the hardcore of Sky Blue support and are pretty certain that the vast majority of city fans want rid of SISU or at the very least want new owners at OUR football club.
They want to see OUR club pushing for promotion next season. They want to see quality games. They want a massive improvement to the matchday experience. Better value for families, excitement like the Wasps have managed to create in only a short space of time, and a overall more uplifting experience. They want to see our kids and future generations supporting Coventry City not parading around in Man Utd and Chelsea shirts.
We don't think SISU are interested in any of these things. All we've seen in recent times is talk of a new stadium that will never become reality. Excuses as to why the club won't invest in the team and a failure to listen to the concerns of fans.
We feel the time is also long overdue for a new properly elected fans representative group to replace the so called consultative group which has shown itself this week to be unfit for purpose and nothing more than a glorified Tim Fisher appreciation society.
Things need to change and change now. Until that happens we will continue to make ourselves heard whenever and wherever possible. That includes our proposed demonstration at SISU HQ in London in April. If you are interested and are definitely available please E Mail us on psbgroup@gmail.com with your details.
In the meantime ,as we have expressed previously, we will be at every remaining match this season supporting the team in the hope that we can ensure our League 1 survival.
The fact that we have ever had to write that last sentence shows how desperate our situation has become.
Rest assured we will continue to challenge and fight to seek a better future
