Queens Park Rangers won the opening game of the Copa Ibiza with an easy 5-0 victory over a San Antonio select side.
In a stormy opening period,the West Londoners took the lead in the ninteenth minute when Kevin Rowlands exposed the home defence and rounded Raul Garcia in the home goal to score.
Just over a minute later,Rangers went further ahead when a long ball from Tommy Docherty picked out former Coventry City striker Paul Furlong who slotted home from twelve yards.
The home side were handy with the rough stuff and a late tackle on Marc Bircham started off a scuffe which went unpunished.
In the 38th minute,Marc Bircham added a third with a well executed right footed strike from 22 yards.
A minute,later,another scuffle saw Tommy Docherty ordered off the pitch by referee Eddie Sweeney but not Juan Arcel who was seen throwing punches.
Coventry born Ian Evatt fired wide six minutes into the second half. Ten minutes later,some good footwork from Gareth Ainsworth resulted in the fourth goal for the Championship side who will play either City or Huddersfield in Thursday's Copa Ibiza Final.
With nine minutes left,Aston Villa reject Stefan Moore stabbed home at the second attempt to send Rangers nap and complete an easy victory.
