Derby still lead the Championship despite a 2-2 home draw with Hull City.
Leeds United remain bottom but beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Elland Road with a goal from Matt Heath. Before the game, there was controversy when it was revealed to Dennis Wise that a Leeds player had slipped the team line-up to Crystal Palace. Wise described the incident as disappointing and said the player responsible would never play for Leeds again.
Rams Still Lead The Way
Elsewhere Colchester won 3-0 at Barnsley whilst next Saturday's opponents Leicester City won 2-0 at Ipswich Town. Sunderland made the most of their hike to Plymouth and came away with a 2-0 victory whilst Wolves won 1-0 at Preston. All the other Championship games finished in draws.
All the games involving our local non-league sides were postponed. Quorn who have Robert Betts,Adam Layfield and Vijay Sidhu on their books lost 2-1 at Brighton based Whitehawk in an FA Vase 5th Round tie.
Former player news sees Newport County signing Dean Holdsworth. The former City striker moved to South Wales after being released by Cambridge United.
Michael Briscoe has joined Tamworth on loan. The former reserve team centre half left City to sign for Macclesfield where he was released a season later. His current club is Conference North Side Hucknall Town.
Trevor Benjamin is expected to sign for Boston United on loan from Peterborough United.
