According to Coventry City FC (Holdings) Ltd accounts which have finally been lodged at Companies House, Former Chairman Ray Ranson did actually get paid for his time at Coventry City.
The accounts show that The Arley Group (a company Mr Ranson has an interest in) invoiced the company (Coventry City Football Club Holdings Limited) £228,125 in relation to the services of Ray Ranson.
We would like to point out that this practice of invoicing a company for a person's time is prefectly legal and a number of former Chairman including Bryan Richardson have done this before.
Mr Ranson resigned from Coventry City in March but has been linked along with former Newcastle director Freddy Shepherd as possibly wanting to bid for the Sky Blues.
