The Daily Express has reported that Coventry City chairman is going to approach near rivals Leicester City to seek permission to speak to their manager Nigel Pearson about the vacant managerial post at Coventry.
Earlier today increased betting on Notts County manager Steve Cotterill to become City's new manager have led to renewed speculation that he is about to be named as the new boss.
A spokesman for bookies Victor Chandler said, "Cotterill was in at 7/2 in the morning and there was a constant stream of bets on him. We kept changing the price but they have backed him at all prices down to evens."
"We suspect an announcement is imminent, so it is a very significant move. This is the most concerted punt so far."
Cotterill is on a short term contract at Notts County which expires on May 30th and is to meet with 'County owner Ray Trew when he returns from a short family break.
