Peter Reid felt he was a bit too harsh on the players after they had conceded two late goals against Gillingham on Wednesday. Speaking to the CET,Reid said: "I was a little bit emotional and upset but having watching the video I realised that maybe I didn't read the game as well directly afterwards, and I think we actually played some really good football.
"So I will be apologising to the players during our team meeting ahead of the Rotherham game and asking them for exactly the same on Saturday in terms of the positive things they did.
"If you look at the overall picture, we are playing some decent stuff but getting punished for silly mistakes, so we have just got to be more professional and disciplined about our play.
"It is all about bouncing back and Rotherham is going to be a similar sort of game to Wednesday night's - very difficult. Whatever happened against Gillingham has gone and we now have to be at our best to get a result against Rotherham. The players are disappointed. "They don't do it on purpose and it is up to them to put things right."
"There is nothing wrong with competition for places and I want another couple of defenders so I can start changing it about in a long and physically demanding season. "I have got a few things in the pipeline but it is a long pipe and it is driving me mad at the moment."
