Former Coventry City striker Craig Reid was on the scoresheet for Newport County in their first home Conference game for 21 years.
Reid, who joined City from Ipswich to replace Roy O'Donovan who had been thrown out of the club and scored forty goals in just over two seasons for City U18's and Reserves before he was released by Micky Adams, scored a second half penalty for Dean Holdsworth's side to earn Newport a 1-1 draw against initial league leaders Tamworth in front of a crowd of 2,217.
