Peter Reid turned to sarcasm in the row caused by Stern John's comments to a Trinidadian website.
The City boss said: "Graham Barrett,Stern John and Patrick Suffo have been away and I am expecting a call any day from Sepp Blatter to let me know if I can pick them or not."
He added: "He might be the top man at FIFA but he would do well to get his facts straight rather than off a website.
"They were not due back until Thursday but every manager has got these problems so we will have a roll call and see.
"If Stern is fit enough to play he will play because I never, ever said to any player not to go away on international duty and I wouldn't say their place is in jeopardy if they did because I think it is an honour for the player and the football club."
