Andy Thorn has arranged three behind closed door friendlies for his reserves in order to give tree of his recently recovered injured players valuable match practise before putting them into competitive games.
The games have been arranged especially for Freddy Eastwood and Ben Turner along with other players such as James McPake and Nathan Cameron He will also give pitch time to underused youngsters like Shaun Jeffers and Callum Wilson.
The first of the three games is scheduled to be played today against Cheltenham Town and will test striker Freddy Eastwood's fitness. James McPake (pictured below) will also be given a workout to check on his ability to last 90 minutes.
Next Tuesdays game will be the one that generates most interest though as that is when Ben Turner will make his long awaited comeback from a serious knee ligament injury. He has been out of action for nine months during which time he has signed the three year extension to his City contract and been the centre of speculation linking him with a move to Birmingham City.
The central defender celebrated his 23rd birthday last Sunday and has been back in full training for some time, but he still has some way to go before he will be fully fit and he is certainly lacking match fitness.
Coventry boss Andy Thorn said to the CT: "I’ve organised three reserve matches to give the likes of Freddy and Ben game time. Ben is coming on well and we will look to give him a run out next Tuesday and see how he goes from there and hopefully there will be another game the following Tuesday.”
