COVENTRY CITY RESERVES 3-1 NOTTS COUNTY BY KEV MONKS
Coventry City Reserves beat Notts County 3-1 in a friendly this afternoon.
In a game to help the bids for fitness of Stephen Hughes,Richard Duffy and Stuart Giddings, Reserves boss Alan Cork also fielded trialist's Danny Thomas and Jake Richardson, son of former Sky Blue Kevin.
On a wet afternoon at Ryton, City were ahead inside nine minutes thanks to a lovely header from Ange Lourougnon who rose to head home a Hughes corner.
City were always the better of the two sides and went further ahead in the 26th minute when Aaron Stringfellow created some space on the right flank and from six yards curled the ball into the bottom corner.
Richard Duffy replaced Stuart Giddings at the break and six minutes into the second half, Stringfellow scored again, making the most of a loose ball on the right hand side of the penalty area.
Mike Whitlow was ordered by the referee to make a change in the 72nd minute when the County number four was involved in some pushing and shoving in the face of Richard Duffy.
There were some good performances from Stringfellow, Wall,Richardson,Ogarro but in the 79th minute, a mistake by Danny Thomas, left in the County left winger who centred for Luke Barringer to bundle the ball past Cameron Belford.
