Port Vale boss Bruno Ribeiro has said that the 2-0 defeat against Coventry City was a bad one and apologised to his supporters.

Ribeiro told the Press Association: "Today was very bad. I'm sorry to our supporters and sorry for everybody here because it was very bad. We didn't get into the game, all the time it is too slow.

"Our movement is never like what we normally do, it was a bad game. Now staying in the top six is important, but if we won today we would have been in the top three.

"But we will keep going and keep our heads up and tomorrow we will speak with the players about what has happened. I don't want more bad days.

"We will be changing some players for next Tuesday because today was very bad. I think there will be six changes as some players are tired and need rest.

"It is very important we get a reaction in the next game. Now we'll try to win again on Tuesday. We need to improve - 95 per cent of the match today was very bad.

"Maybe we thought with Coventry last in the league they would be easy, but I said before the game they play good football and that league position is not correct."
