Right To Appeal Given

Coventry City have confirmed in a statement that the owners have been granted the right to appeal the High Court judgement that was made back in July.

Otium Entertainment Group, Sky Blue Sports & Leisure and the Arvo Trust, who all have vested interests in Coventry City FC, especially the Caymen Islands based Trust which has a debenture out on the club and takes payments from many of the club's limited income streams such as club website hits, lost on three counts of their claim against Arena Coventry Limited, Wasps and Coventry City Council in Birmingham High Court on July 14th.

Many feel that it would be best for all concerned if the court action was put to bed once and for all but Tim Fisher and co, have decided otherwise and appealed against the decision.

Tonight, the club issued the following statement: "Coventry City Football Club can confirm to supporters that it has been made aware that the owners of the club have been granted the right to appeal against the judgement of the High Court made on Friday 14th July.

As stated previously, the club and its staff continue to fully focus on the day-to-day running of the football club, with the immediate priority tomorrow's important match against Cambridge United and supporting Mark Robins and his team.

The club can also confirm again that we are not liable for any costs in relation to this appeal.

Regardless of this appeal by the owners, the club and its staff remain committed to working with ACL/Wasps and its staff to ensure the smooth running of the Sky Blues’ matchdays and developing this relationship further, as stated earlier this week."
