Robbie Simpson has said that he can make the transition from the Conference to the Championship.
The 22 year old who will join the Sky Blues from Cambridge United on July 1st told the CT: "I've had a few chats with Iain Dowie and I feel like I am going to do better and progress further as a player by what he has said to me.
"He was a non-league striker and ended up as an international and he told me about how he got where he did as a player.
"Football and coaching has advanced more since then and he's a big part of that because he has a lot of new ideas. I am going to be part of their plans and I am happy to go to Coventry to prove myself again, just like I did this year."
Robbie Can Make The Step Up
The deal for Simpson will go to a tribunal. Cambridge boss Jimmy Quiin is demanding £250,000 for the forward but cash strapped Coventry have not offered anywhere near that figure.
