Former Coventry City manager Mark Robins has been appointed as the new manager of Scunthorpe United.
Robins was unveiled at a press conference in Scunthorpe and told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: I'm delighted to be here, I was at the game on Saturday and it gives me great encouragement.
The call came on Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately in these circumstances someone has to lose a job and Russ did a great job last season getting promoted. He'll bounce back and go on to other things.
The opportunity was too good to turn down. All the opportunities at Scunthorpe and the chairman's plans, it's exciting times."
