Coventry City manager Mark Robins said he was disappointed with the defeat at Notts County.

Speaking about the 2-1 loss to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Geoff Foster, Robins said:  “We lost ground on them, we lost three points, we’ve lost the game and we’ve lost a goal from a corner again and I am disappointed again.

“We keep saying the same things week in and week out, do not lose a goal from a set play. Don’t give them any ground and we’ve ended up contriving to be masters of our own downfall.

“It’s just really disappointing because we worked hard to get back in it having probably had the best of most of the game up until the time they scored.

“So it puts you on the back foot. We dealt with that OK and were still pressing and committing people forward and getting balls into the box but there was no real quality.

“I don’t think there was a great deal between the two sides. This is a notoriously tough place to come this season but when we got the equaliser it looked like there ws only going to be one winner again and then there was just a stupid bit of play where you have got to see the ball out.

”Liam Kelly is trying to clear the ball and it’s hit Jack Grimmer, who has run past him, whereas he has to got to get there and show him on the outside. Instead it opens up on the inside for him and and he squeezes it across and it comes off Jonathan Forte or Rod McDonald, I don’t know and just bobbles in over the line. It was just awful.”
For me it’s a disappointment because we’re not ready.

“We don’t show that we’re ready and don’t look like we’re ready.

“I have said all season that I believe in them but we make the same errors game in, game out and those have got to be eradicated and the players have got five games to sort that out.”

Robins admits his players are also playing for their futures, saying: “We have got five games to sort it out because there’s a big, big summer coming regardless of what happens.

“And when we do the analysis and see what we have done right and what we haven’t done too well I’ll be looking to improving it, so they have got to step up to the plate and this last five games they have got to step up.

“These last few games are big, big games for us. This was a huge game today and we have lost ground on them. If we’d have won we’d have gone above them but it hasn’t happened.

“There are games on Tuesday where if they win they can go above us. The only saving grace is everyone is falling over themselves to throw things away. We can’t do that.

“It’s just a disappointment, especailly in front of that following. I have never seen this ground so full. They were unbelievable and the players know what we have got in terms of support.”
