Coventry City manager Mark Robins was full of praise for Callum Ball for his part in the Sky Blues 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, Robins said: “He was outstanding – the catalyst to change the way we performed.
“The first half wasn’t really pleasant watching and I was getting a bit frustrated on the touchline. We needed a spark to take the game by the scruff of the neck and Callum epitomised what I was after.
"The trick with Callum now is to make sure he takes that into every game and doesn’t rest on his laurels.
“Callum is only 19 but he’s proved that he’s a capable player and could make a big impact for us.
“I know Nigel Clough rates him and was a little bit loath to let us have him for the season but he did that because of the Richard Keogh deal. That’s our gain so we’ve got to utilise him in the best way.
"I want him to be angry; trying to get into the first team. He’s doing that, knocking on my door and telling me he wants to be playing, so he’s got to carry on working hard to get into our team and put himself in Nigel’s thoughts for when he goes back to Derby.”
