Coventry City manager Mark Robins was happy after his side beat Walsall 3-0 at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon.

Amadou Bakayoko and Jordy Hiwula put City two goals up before the break with Bright Enobakhare converting a 73rd minute penalty.

Speaking about the win, Mark Robins told the media: “I am happy because it’s about time really.

“We could have won by a more emphatic scoreline had we taken more chances but I thought it was a really good performance.

“Walsall are no dummies. They are in a bad run of form and a different head space to when we played them first time around but I think it was a really, really first class performance.

“I thought we passed the ball well and stuck at it on a difficult surface. The grass has started to grow a little because the weather has been good and the ball moved about better, although still bobbling at times, but I thought that we played some really good football.

“We controlled the game and that was really pleasing.

“I thought Bakayoko’s performance after he had scored his goal and got a bit of confidence was outstanding.

“He was winning things in the air, he was flicking on and his movement – he was really, really good and that’s good for him because he’s set his benchmark and he’s got to keep doing that.

“It was a great ball in from Dujon and he scored a really good header, and some of the movement was what we are after, so really pleased.

“Enobakhare could have had a goal from open play, he created chances and Jordy Hiwula took his chance really well and could have had a couple more. But I’m being greedy.

“Hopefully we’re saving them up for next week when we have a tough game at Luton.

“But we can enjoy tonight, smell the roses on the back of a really good week’s work.

“The dressing room is really bouncing and we have got to keep doing that for the rest of the season.”
