Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that he understandss the frustrations of the City supporters at the Memorial Stadium during the 3-1 defeat to Bristol Rovers yesterday.

The City support, who did not have tickets for the seats, stood in the pouring rain on an open terrace, watching City give Bristol Rovers three goals after having a great opening five minutes.

Some of the City supporters left after the third goal or at half-time and went to nearby pubs, where the police were called to one due to them singing, whilst the rest saw Robins who was told to "Sort It Out" get his side playing defensively better in the second half.

Robins told the media: “One of those chances goes in and they go; absolutely go, because the supporters would have got on their backs.

“And as it was we ended up conceding the first one which came as a surprise and shock. I’m talking from the supporters’ perspective.

“And then the second one goes in and they are annoyed and the third one goes in and they want to rip people’s heads off, which is right.

“They’ve travelled down in the rain to a place where they don’t get looked after. You get stuck in the corner of the ground where there’s no roof and it decides to chuck it down, so I understand their frustrations.

“It’s difficult to understand and difficult to take because you’re looking at three stupid mistakes, three errors that have cost us.

“I’m not saying that’s all it was because in the second half we gave them too much of the ball, gave the ball away too cheaply and they were poor, because they didn’t make the most of it. We were giving them the ball in those areas and we don’t get given the ball like that. We have to create something for ourselves.”
