Coventry City manager Mark Robins said that the penalties win at Walsall in an EFL Trophy game has done the Sky Blues some good.
A Marc McNulty penalty and one from half-time substitute Jordan Ponticelli had City cancelling out Zeli Ismail first half penalty before former City loanee Danny Agyei bundled home in stoppage to send the game to penalties which City won 4-3 with two saves from Liam O'Brien.
"We got better second half, that's for sure", said Robins to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
"The youngsters needed the game. Even Peter Vincenti needed the game beause we were running out of steam a little bit so it has done the good.
"It has given us a bit of a chance still to qualify for the knockout stages so lets see what happens when West Brom come the Ricoh in a couple of weeks time.
"The good think is we have scored some good goals and created a number of opportunities against League One opposition. The pleasing thing is that we created enough chances to be three goals up at half time but we find ourselves a goal down.
"McNulty had done brilliantly well tonight. He burried his spot-kick and then he just rolled the ball square for Jordan Ponticelli to get his first goal which is brilliant."
