Coventry City manager Mark Robins said that the performance against Port Vale was much better.
City won 2-1 for the first time since he took over as manager and speaking about the win, Robins told BBC Coventry & Warwickhire: “It was more cohesive, much better. The lads worked hard and grafted for the three points, two well taken goals.
“It gives us a bit of confidence going into Saturday. There are a lot of things to work on, but you take small steps.
“I don’t think there is a lack of passion and pride, it is fear and they have overcome that tonight to a certain extent.
“They all worked hard, and pressed when we needed to, we didn’t get too stretched or open and forced them to go over the top.
“We aren’t getting carried away, it is just three points. The crowd are desperate to get behind us. There wasn’t a lot of preparation time between Saturday and tonight but I’m pleased with the reaction.”
