Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that he has no idea about whether the Sky Blues will be signing Conor Chaplin from Portsmouth or not.
“I have no idea," said Robins to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.
“At the end of the day they have to make a decision on their player. If that happens, then fine. If not then we have other targets that may or may not fall. I don’t know yet.
“I want and need someone else in there to give us that extra body.
Asked if he was anywhere near close to bringing in a number ten, Robins, who is looking at two loans and one permanent deal, said: “I have no idea, is the honest answer.
“We have brought in Jordy Hiwula and we still need another body, possibly two.
“Tom Davies has finished his suspension and it probably feels as long as Eric Cantona’s was, so he comes back into the fold and that’s good for us because he’s been a pretty solid defender for us throughout the pre-season.
“So that’s someone else who is vying for another position but I may look to do another centre-half. We will have to wait and see.
“And I am definitely looking for a forward player, whoever that may be.”
