Coventry City manager Mark Robins was full of praise for Gary McSheffrey who played a good part in the Sky Blues 5-1 demolition of Walsall on Saturday.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the City boss said; "We still need to learn, there are still things that are blatantly not quite right, but at least we’re having a go and the fans who came along today will be happy with our endeavour.
"That started with Gary McSheffrey – I thought he was absolutely brilliant in that respect, the way he closed people down, his willingness to win the ball back and put them under pressure.
"You can see what it means to the supporters – when he came off they gave him a standing ovation and that’s the first time he’s heard that for a long time."
