Coventry City manage Mark Robins has told the City strikers to stay relaxed and the goals will come.
City have not scored in the last three matches and had Max Biamou booed off by some of the support during Tuesday night's defeat to Forest Green Rovers whilst there have been plenty of criticism of Mark McNulty for his lack of goals in open play.
Manager Mark Robins is reported as saying about the lack of goals issue: “I have to be really careful with them because I was a striker myself and am going to be their worst critic.
“So I have to be careful with them because I feel those chances are there to be taken and we haven’t done it.
“For me, they have to be confident and reassured that if they keep getting into those positions and keep doing those things that the goals will come.
“We were anxious and we are trying to force it rather than let it come naturally. You could see it and feel it.
“So from my point of view if I say, ‘this is a joke,’ it won’t do them any good. What they need is to understand the process of what’s happening because I can get anxious and try to force the issue, but it doesn’t happen like that.
“We can all get mad, angry, upset and worried, concerned about our futures in the team, future as manager, whatever. There’s no point. You have got to enjoy it because being a football player is the best job in the world.
“There are worse things out there. We just have to make sure we stay focused and stay driven, but stay relaxed.”
