Robins: You Could Tell It Was A Nervy Encounter

Coventry City manager Mark Robins said it wa a nervy encounter as the Sky Blues wasted plenty of chances and drew 0-0 at Chesterfield.

Speaking to Martin Winch from BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, the City boss said: “You can tell that we have been on a three-game winless run. We passed without quality. You could tell that it was a nervy encounter.

“Having said that, we have created some really good chances and had plenty of opportunities.

“After three defeats on the bounce, that could be a good point if we get some more points on the board at home in the coming games.

“Their ‘keeper has made some unbelievable saves from one of two of McNulty’s chances.

“McNulty also missed one that went behind him at the end and then obviously the one that he went through with, which he did absolutely everything right.

“It was an outstanding run. He went past the defender like he was not there, I thought he might have gone across Ian Evatt because he would have been sent off in that instance, and then he opened his body brilliantly but just failed to hit the far post.

“He is too good a striker not to put balls in the back of the net. He will not keep missing.

“Although I am disappointed, and it is not a good performance by any means, we will take the point and we have a week now to work on this and we will be working very hard.”
