FORMER Coventry and Manchester United manager Ron Atkinson is coming to Coventry next month.
A successful player himself, ‘Big Ron’ is more famous for his sparkling management career and big personality. A manager with Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday, Atlético Madrid, and the Sky Blues among others, He became a household name with his looks and personality being the base of many light-hearted comedy sketches.
During the 1990s and early 2000s he was one of Britain’s best-known football pundits. His idiosyncratic turn of phrase has led to his utterances becoming known as “Big-Ronisms” or “Ronglish”.
He spent his entire playing career at Oxford United, where he still holds the record as the club’s highest appearance maker. As a manager he won the FA Cup with Manchester United in 1983 and 1985 and the Football League Cup with Sheffield Wednesday in1991 and Aston Villa in 1994
'Big Ron' will be at Christ the King Club in Coundon on Friday 10th April 2015 telling stories from a varied career both on and off the pitch and there will be a chance to ask him questions and get a signed photo.
Tickets cost £25 for the evening which starts at 7.30pm and entry includes chicken and chips.
