Ronnie Farmer Guest For City V Bristol City

The Coventry City Former Players Association is very pleased to announce that Sky Blue Legend and penalty king Ronnie Farmer has agreed to be our special guest at the Sky Blues’ upcoming six-pointer against Bristol City at the Ricoh Arena on Boxing Day.

Ronnie was one of the few Former Players who gracefully straddled the Jimmy Hill led transition from the Bantams to the Sky Blues climbing with the Club from Division 4 in 1958 to Division 1 in 1967. Ronnie was a goal scoring wing half who notched up a respectable 53 goals in his 315 first team appearances. For many years he was the Club’s first choice penalty taker with a dead-eye reputation and only ever missed one attempt!

Ronnie, who is a regular in the Legends Lounge at the Ricoh and has supported the Association’s functions with humour and enthusiasm since its inception, will be found around the Arena during the game as well as on the stage of Lady Gs in the G-Casino at the Ricoh Arena after the game, where he will receive a friendly ‘grilling’ from m/c and Association committee member Billy Bell.
