Elsewhere in the division, leaders Cardiff drew 2-2 at home to Derby and there were wins for Plymouth,Colchester,Sunderland and Stoke. The other matches were drawn.

Richie Partridge scored twice for Rotherham in a 5-1 home win over Crewe whilst Louis Carey scored for Bristol City in a win over Doncaster. Trevor Benjamin scored for Peterborough United in a 2-2 draw with Grimsby. Ady Williams managerial career at Swindon got off to a bad start with a 1-0 home defeat to Lincoln City.
Locally, in the Conference North, Nuneaton Borough drew 0-0 at home to Worksop. Rugby Town won 3-2 at Banbury United in a Southern League Premier game whilst Bedworth who were knocked out of the FA Trophy in midweek at Solihull were beaten 1-0 at home by Malvern Town.
Leamington remain top of the Midland Alliance with a 4-1 win over Oldbury United at the New Windmill. Former Sky Blues Ben Mackey and Tom Bates were on the scoresheet for Jason Caddon's side. Atherstone won 4-3 at Alvechurch but Racing Club Warwick lost at Coalville 1-0 and Stratford Town also lost at home to Loughborough 3-2.
Coventry Sphinx were back to league winning ways after losing at Continental Star last Saturday. Paul Charnley's side left Pershore Town with a 3-2 victory thanks to an own goal plus goals from Terry Ward and Covsupport sponsored Danny McSheffrey.
Elsewhere in the division,Coventry Copsewood beat Meir KA 2-0,Nuneaton Griff drew 0-0 at home to Feckenham and that was the same score as Southam drew with Barnt Green Spartak.

Results in the Coventry Telegraph saw Mount Nod win their first round game at Heather Athletic 6-2. In the Second Round, the shock of the round saw Mid Comb Premier Division Massey Ferguson beaten 3-0 at home by Cov Alliance side Christ The King and Chelmsley Town beaten 3-1 at home by Woodlands WMC. Alveston lost 2-1 at home to Highgate but Stockingford won 3-2 at Ambleside.
