Sears Back To West Ham

West Ham United have recalled former Coventry City loanee Freddie Sears on loan from Scunthorpe United.

The forward, who played for The Irons against the Sky Blues last month without worrying the City defence before he was substituted and failed to score in the nine matches he played for Scunthorpe, goes straight into the Hammers squad to travel to Fulham on Boxing Day.

However, a possible return to Glanford Park has not been ruled out with Scunthorpe assistant and one time City bench warmer Kevin Pressman telling This Is Scunthorpe: "Trying to bring back Freddie Sears is potentially an option that we will be looking at.

"It was disappointing this week when we got the call from West Ham saying they wanted him back. "But that's the nature of the loan system when clubs have a 24 hour recall on their players. "West Ham were not able to fill their bench for their last game with Blackburn and decided they needed Freddie back."

Meanwhile, West Ham owner David Gold when asked if he was interested in former Coventry City striker Robbie Keane (pictured below), who is being allowed to leave White Hart Lane in January, told Sky Sports News: "We would look at every potential."
