Season Ticket Sales Good

With PSL holders getting round to renewing, City's sale of season tickets has past the nine thousand mark. The figure which is the same as last season's tally gives a good indication that City supporters have some faith in the club which is currently in negotiations with Manhatten Sports Capital Parners about a take-over.

The figures also show faith in manager Iain Dowie with a poll on this site saying that 68.3% had not changed their view of the Northern Irishman following the outcome of his court case.

Paul Fletcher was delighted with the sales saying to the CT: "I fully understand and respect the Coventry fans who have thrown down the challenge to the club to get a winning team and then they will support us. "We can't expect too much until we do get a winning team.

"I am delighted how season ticket sales have gone so far, being round about where we were last season. "And when you consider we finished eighth the season before last and then 17th last season, the fans deserve a big pat on the back for sticking with us."

With Iain Dowie still not speaking to the press, Tim Flowers commented: If the money is in place I am confident we will get good players in place to make us competitive in the Championship. "Seventeenth is not where we want to be and it is not where our fans want us to be. "But I saw enough last season, in terms of their support, to whet my appetite.

"We went from 16,000 to 26,000 very quickly so the support is there. "But the people want a team to be proud of and we want people to be proud of their team. "So we have got to bring in a certain calibre of player to excite people to want to come to games and hopefully watch a winning team."
