Richard Shaw speaking about his 362nd and final league and cup appearance for the Sky Blues said to the CET yesterday: "I am not disappointed about ending my Coventry career. "All things come to an end at some stage and I feel personally it is the right time to leave because I don't think I could do another year at this football club. "I feel my testimonial and going out with a win in my last match is a good way to go and I don't want to outstay my welcome.
"Who knows whether I will carry on playing. I am not getting any younger but I do feel fit and feel I have had a decent season and played well. I know what it is like when you get to my age and clubs don't take a chance on many people but that's not a problem.
"I will think about things over the summer and decide whether to play on, go into coaching or do something completely different."
If Shaw does decide to continue playing then he could be a target for Millwall. Sources close to Shaw have said if he were to continue playing then it would be for a club close to his South East based home. Millwall who were relegated to League One could fit the bill especially if Ray Wilkins (a good friend of Shaw's) is appointed their manager.
