City keeper Scott Shearer is staying positive despite being banished to the wildnerness that is now City Reserves under the tenure of first team manager Peter Reid.
The keeper who joined Coventry from Albion Rovers and who is having a new dog for Christmas told Ian Clarkson from the PFA: "I can't have any complaints with Luke because he has come here and done what hes been asked to do.
"It's worked out well for him and thats been hard to watch. It's just been frustrating and it's a lot harder when you're not playing. "Trying to crack it is very hard. All I can do is make sure I keep up my work rate and form and be prepared when my chance comes. Luke's arrival has made me a better keeper. It has certainly pushed me a lot more and I have gained from it.
"A lot of the older professionals have told me that they have noticed an improvement, so there's a small positive I can take from being out of the team.
"Seamus McDonagh, our goal keeping coach has added other parts to my game that are making me feel much more comfortable.
"And at least I am getting to try things out in reserve games. I know nobody really enjoys playing for the reserves because there is a huge difference between the two. But I also see it as a time when I can have a go at something different and try what I've practiced in training."
