Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan admitted to being disappointed with his side's 2-0 defeat to Coventry City.
"I'm disappointed with our last two results but, for me, it's all about what happened before," said Sheridan to the Press Association.
"We have done remarkably well to stay in this league. You've got to applaud the players and it has been a joint effort from everyone, including the fans.
"We've done what we set out to do when I came back to the club. A lot of people thought it would go to the last day, including me, so it's great that we achieved safety with two games left.
"I'm going to put pressure on myself and say next season will be different. I don't want us fighting relegation again - I want us in the play-off places.
"A lot of our results have come through effort and desire, but I want us to create more and be more confident on the ball."
